New logo & identity for Lufthansa


In case you didn't know, Germany-based Lufthansa is one of the world's leading airlines.

The airline has just released a new(ish) logo, identity, and livery for its fleet, done in-house and in collaboration with Martin et Karczinski (who have a lot of very nice work on their site).

I happen to think the result is gorgeous, but not everyone agrees.

The crane logo has been refined, its circle trimmed a little, and the wordmark tidied up. They're subtle changes, but if you look at the before and after images, they make a very nice, stylish difference.


But it seems it's the livery that's bothering a lot of people, namely because the 'iconic' yellow colour has been removed.

I think that's beautiful. I love how they've removed the stripe and the grey bottom to the plane. It's cleaner, more stylish, and to me looks like a premium airline.

Overall, this is a wonderful upgrade to an already great identity.
